Group Sport Psychology for Rock Climbers

Service Description
***THIS ONLINE COURSE IS FOR ALL LEVELS OF ROCK CLIMBER*** Climbing is more than strength and technique — it’s learning how to work with your mind under pressure. This group will cover Acceptance and Commitment Skills (ACT) to help climbers build resilience, sharpen focus, and align their climbing with what matters most. Throughout the 6 week course this group will cover: Week 1: Fusion and Defusion skills for unhooking from unhelpful thoughts and feelings. Week 2: Exploring self-concepts & identity as a climber to both enhance our experience and to build healthy relationships with the sport. Week 3: Acceptance and avoidance of discomfort (fear, pump, failure, risk) Week 4: Presence – staying grounded on and off the wall and throughout life. Week 5: Values – What can truly drive your climbing. Who you want to be like in climbing and why. Learning about the ways in which you want to behave as a climber. Week 6: Committed action – turning insights and values into meaningful action and progress towards our goals. By the end of this series, you’ll walk away with skills to manage self-doubt, fear, and climb with more freedom and purpose. Each participant will be provided with a small work book of information and skills to develop and work on over the course of the 6 weeks and to take into the rest of their career as a climber. Each group session is 90 minutes long and will take place via Google Meet (link provided). We will be meeting every Tuesday at 4pm MST. The dates are as follows: 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25.
